Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why beeswax candles?
A: They are the longest lasting, cleanest, healthiest and brightest candle there is. The light spectrum on them is the largest and the closest to natural sunlight. When burned, beeswax releases negative ions which attract and attach to dust, pollen and other allergens, cleaning your air. Beeswax does not emit soot or harmful smoke. Beeswax is the hardest of all waxes and has the highest melting point at 150 degrees.

Q: Do you or can you add color or scent?
A: No. The fragrance oils (FO's) are extremely toxic for you. Look it up. Even essential oils are toxic when burned. Essential oils are wonderful with you when used right but when burned, that's a huge no go. Colors, not that bad. But fragrance, you can't pay me enough to. You'll love the beautiful light and natural honey scent these emit.

Q: What kind of wick do you use?
A: Only 100% cotton. Nothing else. I'm a nerdy purist like that too.

Q: Where do you get your beeswax?
A: having "Local" to you beeswax is not as important as having local honey or meat. The beeswax I have is not only from my own hives, but from other local Utah and Idaho beekeepers. I'm proud to be able to know exactly where the hives were and trust their beekeepers. I buy very raw and unfiltered was by the thousands of pounds. in 2024 we used over 8,000 pounds. We have a simple yet labor intensive filtration process to clean the wax and get it to perfect cosmetic and candle grade beeswax. We can sell bulk wax by 40ish pound blocks, but we do not ship these. We can offer wholesale pricing on smaller, filtered amounts.

Q: What do I do with my leftover candle scraps?
A: Save them! toss them in a jar and try making your own DIY lotion bar (try 1 part beeswax, 1 part she butter and 1 part coconut oil. Heat, blend and then add your favorite essential oil and pour into muffin tins and let cool. Also, make more candles! beeswax can me melted over and over again and never goes bad. See our listings for candle molds and DIY candle kits. There is also a plethora of other crafts and home goods you can make from them.

Q: What is RAW honey versus regular honey?
A: In a beehive, it get's up to the ambient temperature outside. Meaning if it's a 107 degree day it's at least that hot inside. That's why sometimes on hot summer days you see the bees "bearding" or hanging out on each other making a beard in front, to cool off. But the quick answer with honey is that much of your store and commercial honey has been heated above what it should be to kill off all the good stuff. (Please, never microwave your honey btw) There are many good reasons to know where your honey comes from, just like your meat and milk. All our honey here is RAW and unfiltered and I can tell you exactly where it came from. Also, there is no such thing as "organic" honey.

Q: How do I clean my beeswax food wraps?
A: There is cleaning instructions on each package but honestly, it's super simple. If it's greasy and needs warm/hot water and soap, use that. If not, use cold water. Handwash in the sink and put it in your drawer of tupperware lids because chances are you wont be able to find the lid and will use your food wraps as a lid anyway.

She will bark and disrupt our peace and jump up and scratch your car. If you want to stop by and have a dog in your car, we have parking for you at the top of our lane or you're welcome to call us and let me know you have a dog and we can make accommodations.
Aldo, we have been a very popular location for HARVEST HOSTS. A beautiful program where you can book a place to stay with us with your self contained camper or van. Starting summer 2025, We will have one or more campers for you to book so you can come stay on the farm as well.

Q: Where does your meat come from?
A: Us. From this farm. For us, it's important to know how or food was raised and how it was raised. We like to meet our meat. We only raise a few animals a year and to the best ability we can. For our beef, we love a grass fed and finished diet and we do not grain them. For our dairy cow, she does get grain because it is necessary for her health while producing milk to keep it at a high quality. We only sell USDA inspected butchered meat in our shop with the highest standards. We seldom offer half or whole but as we grow or herd, we will be able to offer more. Anything food wise on our farm is grown by us or our neighbors who we trust completely to raise the quality we demand.

Q: Where can I find your class list and schedule?
A: Social media is the best way. I try and plan ahead but weather plays a part. We do have more options this year for classes out of the weather now that we have event space upstairs in the barn and in our greenhouse. I do send out emails before events as well.
