Beeswax food wrap. These took years for me to perfect. And I did. These small wraps measure about 8x10. They're AMAZING! LOTS of different varieties of fabric designs. The designs of wraps vary by season. These are very easy to clean because both the beeswax and the tree resin are anti microbial, anti bacterial and anti fungal. They really only need to be rinsed off in-between uses. If you have wrapped up especially greasy items, you might need to take a drop or two of dish soap and wash them carefully by hand. These will l6ast for years with proper care. Keep them from extreme heat, like a hot July day when you're covering your watermelon at the picnic, as the wrap will get a little soft in the sun.
They CAN leave a little residue of medium on your dishes that is easily rinsed off by hand in the sink. But usually leave no trace. If you're wrap starts to get old and flaky or the medium isn't dispersed as well, you can refresh it by putting it between 2 pieces of parchment paper with a warm iron. Never put in the microwave, the dish washer or a washing machine. Place them in your food storage drawers by your Tupperware and your plastic wrap. They also do well in the freezer. If you want to cut your wraps into a circle or down to a smaller size, simply use a pair of scissors.
We love these for wrapping anything from the half of an apple my kid didn't eat; an onion, lettuce or greens left over from making a salad; the other half of the melon; bowls of leftovers; artisan bread, cheese and so much more.
I am not touting at all that we have to stop using plastic wrap. We just all need to do a little better in our use of single use plastic. I hope you love and enjoy these beeswax food wraps as much as my family and I do! We have so many great reviews and customers who love them.
Why are these different from other beeswax wraps? They are much thicker and much more of the special coating on them. Made with Beeswax, tree resin and jojoba oil, these easily last 5 years or more and are then compostable or a great firestarter. If they start to get tired, place wrap between a portion of parchment paper and use a warm to hot iron to remelt them back into the fabric for a VERY extended use.
To clean, wash like you would a dish in your sink. Use a little soap if needed. dry in your dishrack and I like to put these in my tupperware drawer or where you would put your plastic wrap. Do not wash in the washing machine, dishwasher, use in the microwave or oven or pout on overly warm items and they truly will last YEARS.
