"Oh wow" I mutter under my breath yet also quite audibly.
Her cakes I boast are truly art
And for my 40th, she made one for me.
We tend to revolve around the tradition of cakes for big events like weddings and birthdays. they are a traditional and special thing.
My favorites in my entire life are the simple Sweedish one with fruit my friend Isabelle brought over last year. I wasn't celebrating, but she remembered.
This year, we DID celebrate. My big 40th.
Merial had been a dear friend for years and one of her talents is as a baker and artist. She not only drove her cute kiddos up from utah to spend the day on 4 wheelers, inflatable unicorn toys and a farm, but she brought me the most beautiful artisan (and stupidly yummy) cake.
They say you should celebrate people you love while they're alive.
That weekend I felt so so loved.
II was surrounded by many people I love and...I had a cake that was truly....art.
