These beeswax food wraps took years for me to perfect, but perfect them I did. You'll find that the coating is thicker and slightly stickier than mass produced food wraps you may have used. This is good for you because it means they adhere and stay closed better, and they have a longer lifespan!
These are truly zero waste: they can be reused for many years and are then compostable or a great fire starter. Thanks for doing your part to reduce your plastic consumption and food waste!
Made with 100% cotton fabric, pure beeswax, tree resin and jojoba oil.
Please note that the color of a finished wrap will differ slightly from the fabric swatch shown, as the coating we use is naturally colored by the beeswax and oil.
Sizes
Large measures about 18x20 inches. Use it to wrap a loaf of bread, a big watermelon, or cover an entire baking sheet.
Medium measures about 10x16 inches. Perfect for covering a mixing or serving bowl, a brick of cheese, wrapping a sandwich, covering a 9x13 casserole dish.
Small measures about 8x10. Wrap half an apple, an onion, cover a pitcher or small bowl, or keep your leftovers fresh in the fridge.
Care
To clean, simply wash in the sink with cool water and a bit of mild dish soap if needed.
Because our wraps are made with beeswax, they can melt! If you take them outside in the sun on a hot day they will get soft. Avoid hot water or covering hot foods or dishes. Do not put in the washing machine, dishwasher, or microwave.
Fridge and freezer safe!
If your wrap starts to get flaky or the coating looks uneven after use, simply place the wrap between two pieces of parchment paper and use a warm iron to melt and redistribute the coating. This will greatly extend the life of your wraps.
Tips
- You can use a pair of scissors to cut our wraps down to any shape or size that suits your needs!
- Store them in the drawer where you keep your plastic wrap to make it easy to grab this earth-friendly wrap instead.
- Our wraps usually leave no trace, but it is possible that they might leave a bit of residue on your dishes. This will come right off with normal washing and is not harmful.
